Travel Plans 2017: Three Weeks in Europe

I'm so excited to share that I'm going away for three weeks to Central/Eastern Europe next month! I've been busy researching the best places to go, where to stay and what to do and I'm so excited! I'm hoping to share with you my city guides and recommendations as a solo female vegetarian/vegan traveller!

I've also got a long weekend in Dublin planned next weekend with my little sister which I'm so excited about. I'm so ready for some time away! We had the HBC Summit on Saturday 15th April which was an incredible day – our speakers were inspirational, the food was delicious and we had an amazing turn out – However it was extremely exhausting. It was the culmination of months of hard work and I couldn't be happier with how it went, but I am now in need of a short rest!

Anyway, back to Europe. I'm a little bit nervous to go away by myself but I'm planning a big trip to Central and South America next year, so I figured a small trip around Europe would be a good way to test the water and see how I go by myself.

My apprehension may seem strange as I spent 10 months away in South East Asia after university, but the only part of that trip I had to do by myself was get to Bangkok. Once there, the company I was teaching with picked me and a few others up from the airport and took us to a hotel. Then when I travelled around South East Asia, I was with my (then) boyfriend and we muddled through every long bus journey and wrong turn together. With this in mind, I'm both super excited and slightly nervous. But hey, I'm not one to stay in my comfort zone for too long!

Central Europe Itinerary

Poland

Krakow,  Auschwitz, maybe Warsaw depending on time restraints

Czech Republic

Prague, Cesky Krumlov

Austria

Vienna, Graz

Slovakia

Bratislava

Slovenia

Ljubljana, Bled

Croatia

Zagreb, Plitvice Lakes, Zadar, Split, Hvar, Korcula, Dubrovnik

I'm not sure whether I'll get to go to all of these places or just a few, but I'm going to try! I personally believe it's more important to experience the culture and explore a few places than to 'tick' multiple places off the travel bucket list. If I really like the feel of one place, I'm totally happy to change my plans and stay there longer. So we'll see how it goes!

If you've been to any or all of these places, please share your travel and restaurant suggestions with me!
