Glowing Green Smoothie Bowl
First of all, I want to say sorry for not posting in two weeks! Last week was pretty hectic for me - lots of decisions to make, concerns to think about and worries keeping me awake - as you can imagine, I was feeling rather uninspired.
This week has been much more calm, and I must say that I believe it is down to a change in my own perspective rather than a change in circumstance. I did an awesome candlelit yoga class last Thursday, and it really cleared my mind and gave me some clarity on a few things. Instead of worrying about things, I've decided to be proactive and reach the goals I've set myself from a different angle . I truly believe that being adaptable and flexible is the best way to deal with unforeseen circumstances and events. With this in mind, I've adapted my attitude and now feel much more chilled out!
Of course, when you're feeling a bit pants, the best thing you can do for yourself is nourish your body with delicious, healthy food and exercise. Now, anyone who follows me on Instagram will know that I am addicted to green smoothie bowls! They leave me feeling refreshed, energised and ready to face the day - I've been having them for breakfast most mornings this week!. On top of this, my skin is glowing, my brain is switched on and I feel super nourished and healthy all day.
The best thing about smoothie bowls (in addition to their numerous health benefits) is their delicious toppings! I enjoy adding a crunch with cacao nibs, granola, pumpkin seeds or flaked almonds to mix up the texture. Oats also work really well if you want something a little more filling. Glowing Green Smoothie Bowl Recipe
1 ripe banana
1/2 an avocado
1/2 cup almond milk (or other plant-based milk)
1/2 cup water
2 ice cubes
1) Blend all ingredients together, starting with the bananas, kale and almond milk, then add the rest.
2) Pour into a bowl
3) Add your favourite toppings such as cacao nibs, almonds, blueberries nut butter, flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds or yoghurt.
